My Favourite Plastic Free Coffee Brewers

I have been slowly trying to detox my kitchen. And if there is one thing that I cannot live without - its coffee. But I would always feel this walk of shame after I used my coffee machine because I knew there is no way this hot liquid in this plastic is good for me.

Luckily I watched The Plastic Detox on Netflix after I replaced it!

Here are some of my favourite finds on this hunt!

Automatic Drip Coffee Machine:

This coffee machine by Simply Good Coffee is the only drip coffee machine I could find that had every piece that touches the water to be plastic free. My husband got it for my birthday this year and I’m obsessed with it. The coffee is good. The mechanisms are simple. Easy to clean and no walk of shame! It’s on the pricier side (~$400USD). But our hope is that it lasts us forever. If it doesn‘t I’ll let you know.

French Press:

There are lots of different kinds available for a French press. You just have to make sure the internal press and grate are also stainless steel which is a bit trickier to find. We bought this Secura French Press that we use for camping. It works great, is extremely reasonable (under $50 CAD) and is big enough for each of us to have a large cup of coffee each.

Percolator

When I didn’t know I was getting the Simply Good Coffee machine, I was very close to purchasing this Coletti Bozeman Percolator Coffee Pot. It’s highly reviewed and plastic & aluminum free. Also super reasonable under $50 CAD.

Pour Over

Lots of really good options if you have the patience for the pour over! I’m partial to this one by Grosche.
